Thoughts on This Video?

This is an excerpt from Will Richardson's TED Talk from a few weeks ago.  What are your thoughts? Are there implications for education?

  1. this video is showing people how you can use the internet for any type of infomartion. Many people now make tutorials of different things teaching you whatever the subject is and post it on you tube. The internet these days really are the main source of information for anything that you need or want to know.

  5. This video is really interesting because it shows how people today can learn pretty much anything through the internet. I thought it was awesome that the girl learned how to play Don't Stop Believing from youtube even though her piano teacher didn't think she was ready to learn that song. The internet definitely opens the door to quick, effective learning.

  8. From the two stories he told us, I find out how powerful the internet is, and I had the same experience as his daughter did. Last summer, I broke my bike. In order to repair it, I went on Youtube, and typed in "bike rapair", then tons of videos came out in the search results. I clicked one of those videos, and it told me hand by hand how to replace the bike cranksets. It showed me what kind of tool you need to get your job done. I found that it was very useful. finally I fixed my bike by myself. Not only did I save money, but I also felt great when I fixed stuff by myself. The internet is a wonderful place for people who are looking for help.

  9. This video gives some great real life examples of how we can use technology (youtube in particular) to teach us about things we are interested in outside of school. This video helps us realize that the world is much bigger than a classroom, and we can have access to people anywhere with the help of the internet. The use of learning to play the piano is a good example for youtube's potential for education. I have used youtube for education in the past when installing things in my car. People post videos of the same problems I was having and they ended up being very helpful.

  10. This video shows how important technology is. Technology can be used as a tool for learning more inforamtion on any topic you want, and it is very easy to learn too. This video is a slight preview of how technology might be used in schools in the future.

  11. This video is very interseting because it shows that you don't need a conventional setting, like a classroom to learn something. You can read blog's, watch tutorial video's, and research anything on the internet to teach you about anything you want.

  12. Like what everyone stated, it shows the power of technology in education. I personally have youtube to learn everything from how to program things to how to play the flute. I think is a great thing, and definitely sometimes easier to learn from than the regular classroom setting.

  13. This video is a good example of a way to save money for piano lessons or anything that can be taught to someone. i have used this method of learning before with my car and and ipod and phone. Its alot easier to learn when you can replay the video as many times as you want.
